Strictly's Gorka Marquez sparks concern with 'bouncing off the walls' behaviour

Strictly Come Dancing professional Gorka Marquez appeared on It Takes Two alongside his dance partner Dr Punam Krishan, and viewers couldn't help but comment on his "lively" behaviour

Strictly Come Dancing's Gorka Marquez raised eyebrows with his "lively" antics during a peculiar appearance on It Takes Two. The 34 year old professional dancer was featured on the BBC Two show on Thursday night, alongside his celebrity dance partner Dr Punam Krishan.

They were interviewed by host Janette Manrara about their recent performance. Gorka and Punam had viewers' hearts racing as they performed their foxtrot to Shania Twain's iconic song Man! I Feel Like A Woman last weekend.

However, it wasn't the dance moves that caught the audience's attention. Speaking about the tight leather trousers Gorka wore for Saturday's show, Janette said: "We need to talk about those trousers because, on Saturday, you were trending on social media, thanks to them! So many comments! " She chuckled as she informed Gorka and Punam that numerous fans had suggested the leather trousers "alone were worth a 10".

Another flustered viewer described Gorka as "perfectly parcelled". The father-of-two snacked on a biscuit, revealing he had been awake since 4am and hadn't eaten since lunch, and cheekily replied with a saucy phrase in Spanish, reports the Mirror.

Janette translated it as "tighter than the nails of a submarine", while Punam chimed in: "You struggled to get them on and off didn't you! " Gorka then likened himself to Ross Geller from Friends, who suffered an embarrassing wardrobe mishap when he donned a pair of leather trousers for a date.

Gorka Marquez, the Strictly Come Dancing star, made a humorous comparison to a character from Friends when discussing the challenges of dancing in tight trousers. "I had talc, and then between your legs the chaffing. A lot of that, I was a bit like the guy in Friends," he joked.

His co-star Punam Patel shared that Gorka was in a bit of a panic just before going live, uncertain about how to manage the discomfort caused by his outfit. "We were just about to go on for the announcement of the couples and he's like 'What do I put on, do I put on powder, do I put on cream, do I put on sudo cream? ' I was like not now Gorka, not now, just dance! " she quipped.

However, some viewers expressed concern over Gorka's unusually high energy levels during the show. Tweets poured in commenting on his behaviour, with one viewer noting, "Gorka is very 'lively' this evening," while others echoed the sentiment.

One person observed, "He was bouncing off the walls, saying inappropriate Spanish proverbs and making Janette translate them, getting up and dancing randomly, WTF? ".

Despite these worries, many fans were entertained by the focus on Gorka's attire, particularly his PVC trousers, during the Saturday night episode. Enthusiastic tweets showed appreciation for the candid discussion, with one fan saying, "Loving how this episode of #ItTakesTwo has just descended into an in-depth discussion of Gorka's PVC trousers," and another adding, "Very much enjoying it."
