Gogglebox stars confirm heartbreaking death of beloved 'family member'
by Sam Cooper, Victoria Johns · NottinghamshireLiveGogglebox personalities, Stephen Webb and Daniel Lustig, have shared the heartbreaking news of the passing of their much-loved pet poodle. The pair, who are no longer together, expressed their grief to followers, calling the poodle "our princess".
Steven Webb, aged 53, went on social media to post an endearing photo of the poodle with an orange collar alongside the TV duo on the settee, captioning it: "Today we said goodbye to the kindest little girl, our princess RIP."
Meanwhile, 49-year=old Daniel Lustig also posted a touching video of the late pooch, with the simple but heartfelt tribute "RIP".
Fans rushed to offer their sympathies to the stars of Gogglebox, with one commenting: "Sending love to you all" and another writing: "Sending you the biggest love the paw print they leave on our hearts stay forever."
Others joined in the condolences, with heartfelt messages acknowledging the deep bond between owners and their "I know what it feels like , they are our fur babies".
Stephen and Daniel had made the decision to divorce this past April after a marriage of six years. Their separation came as a surprise to many fans, with Stephen revealing that they had drifted apart over time, reports the Mirror.
The former couple continued living together while Stephen participated in Celebs Go Dating earlier in the year. The jovial hairdresser disclosed that he and Daniel "switched off" from their relationship, confessing: "We both kind of switched off and stopped working at it. The longer you leave it, the more it deteriorates to a point where there's no going back."
He told The Sun, "I'm a firm believer in that life is about change and now I'm just looking forward to the next chapter of my life."
Despite this, he maintained that he had an "amazing time" with his ex, with whom he appeared on Gogglebox from 2018 until their departure last year. The former couple have remained good friends and continue to run their Brighton-based hair salon together.
They even did each other's hair back in June, as evidenced by an Instagram clip where Daniel can be heard saying: "Aren't I lucky to have a live-in hairdresser, Stephen? " His former co-star cheekily retorted: "Well, quid pro quo because I want you to wax my a**e in a minute."
To which Daniel laughingly replied: "Urgh! No! ".
