ITV Coronation Street fans 'work out' heartache for Dee-Dee Bailey after Frankie news

Coronation Street has depicted a heart-wrenching turn of events for Lauren Bolton (played by Cait Fitton), as her baby Frankie needs additional medical attention. Last week, Frankie, who was born prematurely, was hurriedly taken back to the hospital after his paternal grandparents, Gus (portrayed by Chris Garner) and Anthea Deering (played by Carol Royle), found bruising on his body.

Despite initial allegations of abuse against Lauren, doctors swiftly concluded that the bruises were not due to external harm, but suggested Frankie might be sick. On Monday (December 16), Lauren told her boyfriend Max Turner (played by Paddy Bever) that Frankie's blood tests had come back, indicating the potential of leukaemia or severe aplastic anaemia.

Even if diagnosed with the latter, Frankie could need a bone marrow transplant, with a biopsy planned. However, he first required a blood transfusion.

Lauren was insistent on being a donor for her son, but a review of her medical history revealed she had contracted Hepatitis C at 13, making her ineligible to donate due to residual antibodies. Meanwhile, Gus and Anthea showed up at the hospital, expressing their wish to make amends with Lauren and offer help.

Lancs Live reports how Lauren initially dismissed them, she was devastated by her inability to directly aid Frankie and started to consider whether Gus and Anthea might be right, reports Plymouth Live.

Max tried to convince Lauren of her resilience in the face of possibly receiving a life sentence for Joel's (Calum Lill) murder. However, Lauren grew more anxious, fearing that her son Frankie might be better off with his grandparents.

Meanwhile, Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) grappled with the decision to end her pregnancy, not just because Joel was the father. As she sought guidance on her choice, Dee-Dee's reflection was cut short by a call from Max informing her that Frankie was seriously ill and might need a bone marrow transplant, leaving her deeply unsettled.

Coronation Street viewers are now abuzz with theories that Dee-Dee will decide to keep her baby in the hope that it could be a match for her half-brother Frankie. On social media platform X, fans shared their thoughts: One commented, "I wonder if Dee Dee will keep her baby and hope it's a match for Frankie. #Corrie."

Another speculated, "Dee Dee will keep her baby and her baby will be a donor for Frankie. #Corrie."

A third chimed in, "Omg I bet Dee-Dees baby that she's trying to decide what to do with, would end up being a match for Frankie since they share the same dad #corrie."

The question of whether Dee-Dee's unborn child could help Frankie was posed by another fan, "Would it work of DD kept the sprog to help Frankie? #corrie."

One viewer noted: "Dee-Dee got the confirmation from God - she looked upwards! She'll have Joel's baby to hope he/she will be a match for Frankie."
