ITV I'm A Celebrity's GK Barry addresses challenges of jungle life before joining show

Ant and Dec are set to welcome ten new celebrities into the jungle tonight as I'm A Celebrity gears up for its latest run. Amongst this year's participants, the youngest is podcast host and social media sensation, GK Barry.

Last year, 25-year-old Grace hinted at her involvement in the ITV1 show during an episode of her podcast featuring I'm A Celebrity alumna Ferne McCann, revealing how hunger could affect her time on the series.

Grace confessed to the former TOWIE celebrity: "When I'm hungry, I become a horrible person, I'd be arguing with everyone in there, just from hunger."

In conversation with finalist Mark Wright on another occasion, she disclosed which elements of the show she might struggle with, reports OK!

She aired her concerns: "I just don't think I could do, you know when you're showering, in the fountain. I couldn't deal with that."

"And as for Australia's creepy-crawlies, forget it," she added. "The thing is, Australia is hot, if you put a snake near me, I'd have a heart attack, I don't think I could do that at all."

Wright informed her about snakes making their way into camp, which are then safely removed by professionals.

Grace responded humorously after learning they weren't completely shielded from wildlife, adding: "I don't know why, but I always thought maybe they'd net it all off, that there'd be no snakes near you. Well now I'm definitely not doing it now that you've told me that."

Achieving TikTok fame in 2020, Grace amassed over a million followers within the first year of her account creation.

In 2022, she launched her podcast Saving Grace and has since taken it on a UK tour.

Joining her in the jungle will be a host of well-known personalities including McFly's Danny Jones, Dancing on Ice judge Oti Mabuse, Coleen Rooney and radio presenter Melvin Odoom.

Other celebrities heading to Australia include N-Dubz singer Tulisa, Coronation Street's Alan Halsall, Loose Women's Jane Moore, Radio 1 star Dean McCullough and boxing promoter Barry McGuigan.

Love Island's Maura Higgins and Rev Richard Coles are anticipated to join the jungle later, bringing the total number of campmates to 12.

I'm A Celebrity: Unpacked will feature hosts Joel Dommett, Sam Thompson and DJ Kemi Rodgers discussing all the latest happenings from the main show.

I'm A Celebrity starts at 9pm on Sunday on ITV1 and ITVX.
