Coronation Street's Daniel Brocklebank has offered a succinct update from his dreamy getaway after swapping the UK for what his followers have described as a 'well-deserved' break.

The actor, who portrays Billy Mayhew on the ITV soap, announced his arrival in the Caribbean earlier this week, following intense scenes on the show that saw his character grapple with the loss of his husband Paul Foreman.

For those who follow the drama, it was a poignant moment when Billy tragically missed the opportunity to bid farewell to Paul, portrayed by Peter Ash, who succumbed to Motor Neurone Disease (MND) an incurable condition he had been battling for 17 months.

Amid the heart-wrenching storyline unfolding on-screen, Daniel, who has brought Billy to life for nearly ten years, has jetted off for some much-needed R&R under sunnier skies after a particularly demanding period on set.

Taking to Instagram, the actor shared a selfie and expressed his delight: "It appears that I've awoken in the Caribbean! ! ! Bring on the relax, sunshine and much needed sleep! " In response, Daniel's partner Jordan Coulthard commented: "You deserve this so much babe. Have the best time! ", while his former co-star Peter added: "Looks amazing! Enjoy your well-deserved rest, buddy! ", reports the Manchester Evening News.

Now, Daniel has posted another glimpse of his idyllic vacation, lounging on a pristine beach with the shimmering turquoise ocean in view. He simply captioned the post: "Perfection."

Unable to resist, his partner Jordan humorously remarked: "Blackpool looks BEAUTIFUL." Once again, Daniel's fans and followers quickly jumped in with their well-wishes.

@debbie. newell.7 commented: "Nothing beats the Caribbean. You enjoy every ray of sunshine, you deserve it after your amazing performance." @debbieellis01 posted a similar message: "Well deserved after your amazing performance."

Love from New Zealand was sent by @inzspire_interiordesign, who wrote: "Well deserved holiday after such an emotional storyline and superb acting @danielbrocklebank."

With enthusiasm, @tottgirl1 responded: "Very well deserved, enjoy! " @jayneb229 lightheartedly teased: "Oh you're just showing off now Daniel haha."

Meanwhile, @kayh18ox enthused: "Ooh lovely, enjoy, every minute." This flurry of affection comes on the heels of Daniel talking about Paul's intense final scenes. He described filming them as "harrowing" and revealed, "We've been building up to this moment for 18 months, us as actors, so when we got that final block in, it was like, 'Oh my God, we're here! '" According to Daniel, the distance they felt from the climax of the storyline when it was pitched made it feel almost surreal once it arrived.

As actors, they found the experience both profoundly emotional and gratifying, especially as he describes the chronological shooting order, which culminated in the scene where Billy arrives too late to see Paul alive marking Pete's final scene.

"So we knew that when that moment happened, Pete was going to be leaving and Billy, Gemma, Bernie and Summer are grieving Paul but we're grieving Pete, our friend. To lose someone that you adore working with every day is rubbish. So it was harrowing on both levels."
