Strictly Come Dancing's Chris McCausland makes announcement to fans after win

by · NottinghamshireLive

Strictly Come Dancing fans have been left 'heartbroken' as the newly crowned champion Chris McCausland has officially confirmed he won't be participating in the show's annual live tour. Every year, after the filming of the latest series of the hit BBC show concludes, many of its stars enjoy a brief rest before diving straight into rehearsals for the tour, which fills arenas across the UK and Ireland.

Naturally, having voted in their droves every weekend for nearly three months, viewers eagerly anticipate seeing Strictly's most popular contestants and their professional partners on tour, with the power to determine the result of each show via an audience vote. However, despite aiding Chris and Dianne to victory on Saturday night's Strictly final, fans won't be able to do the same on the tour.

After much speculation and his name being absent from the line-up, Chris took to social media to announce he would not be involved and explained why. Addressing fans, the comedian wrote: "I'm afraid I will not be able to do the Strictly tour. My own tour was meant to be on the road in September and a lot of dates were moved to Jan and Feb to accommodate doing #Strictly. It's unfortunate as it's been so much fun, but my own dates can't be moved for a second time."

Chris' fans did not hesitate to chime in, with one commenting: "Oh to be so much in demand. You've become our national treasure, I hope you know that!

"You have been such a joy to watch dancing and provided comedy at the same time. Incredible. Well done!" Another then joined in, saying: "I'm sure everyone would have loved to have seen you dance but you have your own commitments to worry about Chris," reports Chronicle Live.
