I'm A Celebrity star GK Barry's pal shares drunken prank but says she'll show 'vulnerable' side
by Hamaiz Iqbal · NottinghamshireLiveSocial media star GK Barry is set to join the line-up for the upcoming series of I'm A Celebrity, which kicks off on Sunday. Known off-screen as Grace Keeling, the podcast host is gearing up to win over viewers with her stint in the jungle alongside nine other celebrities.
In a revealing anecdote shared before her appearance, her best friend recounted a comical incident following a night of heavy drinking that resulted in an unintentionally public viral moment.
YouTube personality and fellow podcast presenter Joe Baggs shared the story: "Last year at my dad's 60th, we were all really p****d and Grace decided to put a chocolate button on her nether regions and videod my best friend Charlie, like basically picking it up from there, but she didn't put it on her close friends' list, she put it on her main stories and then went to bed.
"The next morning, it was chocolate button gate, the amount of replies to the story that were like, 'Was this meant for us? Grace, take this down'," reports OK!.
Joe believes that despite the humour, audiences will see a new facet of Grace in the jungle, beyond her comedic online presence.
He revealed: "There's so many different levels to her, we just see the Tik-Toky humour, she's so chronically online, the moment some news breaks, she's on that, sarky comments.
"But she can also be super vulnerable, she's so supportive of other people. She'll drop the comedy of Saving Grace and actually hear people out and get to know people on that deeper level."
He added: "She's recently got a girlfriend Ella, I think she'll show some vulnerability with that as well by missing her, she's gonna miss her like crazy."
Grace initially gained fame on TikTok in 2020, during the lockdown, and quickly amassed over a million followers within a year of creating her account.
In 2022, she launched her podcast, Saving Grace, which has since led to a UK tour. She will be joined in the jungle by a diverse group of celebrities, including McFly's Danny Jones, Dancing on Ice judge Oti Mabuse, and radio host Melvin Odoom.
Other contestants heading to Australia include Coronation Street's Alan Halsall, Loose Women's Jane Moore, Radio 1's Dean McCullough, and boxing promoter Barry McGuigan.
The companion show, I'm A Celebrity: Unpacked, will feature hosts Joel Dommett, Sam Thompson, and DJ Kemi Rodgers discussing the latest developments from the main show.
I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! launches on ITV1 on Sunday, November 17 at 9pm
