BBC Strictly Come Dancing professionals to give 'rom-com-inspired' routine for Sunday's results show

The beloved professional dancers are set to take to the floor for a romantic routine on Sunday, which is 'full of comedy, romance and a few twists'.

Strictly Come Dancing's professional dancers are gearing up for a "rom-com-inspired" routine at the start of Sunday’s results show. The performance will cast Neil Jones, partnered with songstress Toyah Willcox on the BBC hit series, in the role of the leading man for a dance described as "full of romance, comedy and a few twists".

Crafted by choreographer Jason Gilkison, the BBC teases an act where "sparks to fly and hearts to skip a beat", encapsulating love in quintessential Strictly fashion. The spectacle will see the pros gliding over park benches, living rooms, and even a rowing boat, donning vibrant garbs.

Adding to Sunday's excitement, British artist Alexis Ffrench will delight viewers with a performance, alongside some of the dancing talent. The episode spells the end for one more celebrity in the landmark 20th series of Strictly, following the departure of Olympian Tom Dean and his professional partner Nadiya Bychkova in the first results show this season.

This news follows after DIY SOS celebrity Nick Knowles was handed a free pass to next week, having sustained a "quite painful" knee mishap post-rehearsals on Friday which sidelined him from Saturday's Movies Week performance. Knowles had previously sustained an arm and shoulder injury but had been medically cleared just in time for last weekend's showcase.
