At your next party, it's almost guaranteed that a bag of Haribos will turn up.

These famous sweets have quite the history since Hans Riegel started Haribo in 1920 over in Germany. The first gummy candy, now loved worldwide as gummy bears, was introduced by the creator two years later.

He took inspiration from the dancing bears seen at German street festivals in the 19th century. Fast forward to today, Haribo treats remain one of the top picks for those with a sweet tooth globally – and are even more beloved here in the UK.

With the holiday season on the horizon, Haribos aren't just tempting snacks but also perfect as gifts or as Christmas stocking stuffers. Now, get ready to be gobsmacked by a little-known Haribo hack that's got everyone's jaws dropping on X, formerly Twitter.

Over on the Today Years Old profile, with a sizeable 1.1 million followers, there's a video going viral which shows a woman figuring out a clever packaging secret before dashing off to her nearest shop to give it a whirl.

The leading caption reads: "Why do manufacturers do this and NEVER inform us?" The hack is a real eye-opener – rather than tearing open the bag and risking an explosion of sweets everywhere, there's a strip you can pull which lets you reseal the pack after.

It really is as straightforward as that. In the viral clip, the woman is completely taken aback and exclaims: "No way. I can't believe it," as she gets her head around the nifty trick.

The clever trick has been revealed for Haribo sweet packets, allowing you to easily reseal them without needing a clip. Since the video was shared, it has gained over 436,000 views and 2,800 likes.

One viewer commented: "Yep it's amazing open them all like this now." Another added: "I had no idea." A third shared the same surprise, saying: "It's her utter disbelief that makes it. I felt the same."

However, some were less impressed, pointing out the information is already on the packaging. Another joked: "Useless knowledge if you're gonna eat the entire bag in one sitting."
