'I wore particular outfit to job interview – it's the reason I bagged the job'

A woman decided to wear a special outfit to a job interview, and she thinks it was the secret to securing the job. The quirky fashion statement seemed to tick all the right boxes

When you go for a job interview, you worry about all sorts of things.

From how well you can answer questions to how you present yourself and if you can offer just the right amount of knowledge on a subject. But, according to one woman, the key to success is in the clothes you wear.

The anonymous woman opened up about the theory on Reddit after she confessed she wore a very specific outfit to a job interview. And yes, she got the job.

In the post, she wrote: "I wore my husband’s suit and got the job! I’m back! I listened to all of your lovely opinions, and went with my husband’s suit for the interview! I got compliments from the interviewers on my outfit, which was cool. So here’s to the new trend of wearing your husband’s suit!"

She also shared a snap of the outfit – and she looked pretty chic. The interviewee opted for an oversized blue suit, which she paired with a cream T-shirt and neutral loafers.

The look she went for was effortless and modern yet totally stylish. We can see why the interviewers were left impressed.

Since the opened up about her recent luck, more than 50,000 people have viewed the post, and hundreds have been talking about it online. They were quick to share their thoughts on whether certain outfits can really help to bag a job.

One person couldn't believe how great she looked in the suit, writing: "Correction: you wore your suit that your husband incorrectly thought was his. WAY TO GO ON THE JOB!!"

Another added: "I remember seeing your initial post asking about outfit options. As others said on that post, seriously, this outfit looks amazing on you.

"I would have guessed a different option you shared was the one that was your husband's! Congrats on the new job! I hope it's as great of a fit for you as the outfit is!"

A third replied: "I might need to bust out my husband's suit and see how it looks! I have an interview next week." Meanwhile, a fourth also wrote: "I wore my husband’s suit jacket for an interview at 38 weeks pregnant and got the job, lol."
