Fleet Farm employee, 17, assaulted with weapon in Carver, Minn.

CARVER, Minn. (FOX 9) - A 17-year-old employee at Fleet Farm was assaulted with a weapon in Carver on Sunday afternoon, authorities say.

What we know

According to the Carver County Sheriff's Office, just after 2 p.m., a teenage girl employee at the Carver Fleet Farm was assaulted with a weapon by a man.

A press release says authorities responded to the Fleet Farm on a report that the employee "suffered an apparent stab wound to her neck."

The employee was taken to the hospital with no serious injuries, law enforcement said. In a press release on Monday, authorities said she was last reported to be in stable condition at the hospital.

The suspect, a 31-year-old man from Kansas City, Kansas, fled the store but was later taken into custody. He was booked into the Carver County Jail.

There is no known connection between the suspect and victim, with authorities noting there is no ongoing risk to the public.
