The Ki-Low-Na Friendship Society is hosting an event to recognize Truth and Reconciliation next week.

To honour this important date, Ki-Low-Na Friendship Society has several plans, including a march to the courthouse, providing meals for people at 442 Leon Avenue and displaying information regarding the history of Truth and Reconciliation.

The Society says that every year they bring the community together to honour Truth and Reconciliation and that people should expect educational activities, local art, children's activities and storytelling from elders.

"We invite you to come and take part in our event. It is free and takes place in our main building at 442 Leon Avenue. The march starts at 12 p.m. and the rest of the event will proceed through to 4 p.m.," said the Ki-Low-Na Friendship Society in a written statement.

Events could potentially change between now and the day of the event, and the Ki-Low-Na Friendship Society is encouraging all to attend, to learn, and to work towards real Truth and Reconciliation.

This event takes place on the Friday before Truth and Reconciliation day the following Monday.
