Two Vernon realtors are looking for the scariest homes in Vernon, not to sell but to showcase for the second annual Halloween Tour.

The event is put on by John “Halloween” Deak and John Christmas from Royal LePage Downtown Realty. This year, the pair have added a charity aspect to the tour and homes will be sponsored by businesses and/or individuals to raise money.

“We've linked with Schubert Centre and we're doing businesses, or anybody, who wants to sponsor a house,” said Christmas.

The format is similar to what residents will have seen from Christmas’ famous lights tour, where homes have a sign with the sponsor’s name proudly displayed.

“It's by donation and you can get your business on there,” explained Christmas.

Applications for homes and sponsors to be included in the tour are being accepted now until Oct. 11. The realtors are looking to feature 10 of the best-decorated homes in Vernon, people can submit applications online.

The tour will be ready for viewing Oct. 17 to 31, on weeknights homes will be lit from 5 to 9 p.m. On Fridays, Saturdays and Halloween Night, homes will be lit from 5 to 10 p.m.

A map of the homes will be available online here, changes occasionally occur and people are encouraged to check before heading out.
