Two injured in semi crash

BC Emergency Health Services says two patients were taken to hospital after a collision between a semi truck and a pickup truck on the Trans-Canada Highway near Chase Thursday morning.
A representative from BC EHS confirmed they received a call about the incident just after 11 a.m. and two ambulances were dispatched.
"Paramedics provided emergency medical treatment to two patients who were transported by ground ambulance to hospital," BC EHS said. "An air ambulance was initially paged but was not needed to respond to this incident."
Highway 1 is still blocked in both directions about two kilometres east of Chase near Jade Mountain.
Motorists can expect lengthy delays in the area. DriveBC has suggested using Highway 97 as a possible detour route.
DriveBC is expected to provide an update about the highway closure later Thursday afternoon.

A collision between a pickup truck and a semi-truck near Jade Mountain has closed the Trans Canada Highway east of Chase.
Motorists are warned to expect delays in the area. DriveBC has suggested using Highway 97 as a detour route.
Emergency crews are on scene and working to clear the highway.
DriveBC is expected to provide an update about the highway closure at about 2 p.m.
