A Salmon Arm youth ended up in hot water after he was caught shooting fireworks out of a moving vehicle at the urging of his friends.

Salmon Arm RCMP received a complaint Oct. 30 about occupants inside a Volvo shooting fireworks from the window while driving down 30 Street SE.

“The complainant was able to provide a licence plate and police were able to track down the driver,” said Const. Andrew Hodges of the Salmon Arm RCMP.

The young man admitted to shooting the fireworks out of his vehicle after being peer pressured by his friends.

“While very apologetic and regretful, the young man was later brought into the Salmon Arm police detachment by his father,” Hodges said.

A Mountie sat down with him to further discuss the possible consequences of his fireworks stunt and how he can make better life decisions in the future.
