Semi crash closes Hwy 1

A collision between a pickup truck and a semi-truck near Jade Mountain has closed the Trans Canada Highway east of Chase.

Motorists are warned to expect delays in the area. DriveBC has suggested using Highway 97 as a detour route.

Emergency crews are on scene and working to clear the highway.

DriveBC is expected to provide an update about the highway closure at about 1 p.m.
