Gino & Fred: Emission Impossible viewers slam show and 'expose' reason Gordon snubbed it
by Joe Crutchley · PlymouthLiveThe latest outing of Gino and Fred: Emission Impossible left viewers divided in their opinions.
The new ITV series graced television screens once again on Tuesday (December 17), showcasing another chapter in the eco-conscious journey of Gino D'Acampo and Fred Sirieix. The show captures their adventures as they explore the culinary delights and cultural experiences of Austria and Croatia.
During the recent episode, the duo travelled to Croatia, where they were taken aback by the issue of 'over-tourism' in Dubrovnik, a popular tourist destination. However, it didn't take long for audiences to express their dismay at the show, with a number feeling underwhelmed.
An individual commented on place X stating: "Just swearing and eco misinformation! #ginoandfred beautiful scenery spoiled by two grown men who swear like they're trying to impress. Switching off."
Another viewer criticised: "EmissionImpossible what a load of b******s. Sold their souls.", reports the Mirror. Referencing the absence of their usual companion Gordon Ramsay from this venture, a third contributor remarked: "No wonder Gordon swerved this one. Load of rubbish."
Despite some negative feedback, there were those who expressed their appreciation for the show. A fan enthused: "#ginoandfred is decent TV. Love seeing the beauty of other countries. Not quite the same without the banter of Gordon Ramsey." Meanwhile, another admirer wrote: "Funny, refreshing, this program has everything. Thank you Gino and Fred."
In an earlier chat with Express.co.uk, Fred revealed he has an upcoming project which unfortunately Gordon couldn't join due to travel restrictions. He divulged: "Well, we don't have one [a show] with Gordon and Fred, but me and Gino, we went to Croatia and Austria. But Gordon couldn't travel so we both just went."
Discussing the impact of this change, the First Dates maestro said: "I mean, it's kind of the same kind of thing I would do with Gordon, but it's just me and Gino. Just the dynamic is a bit different." He added: "We travel in these two countries and we are being conscientious travelers on a green mission. Maybe just as funny, though, I am not like a green guru or anything like that, but, you know, I'm genuinely concerned with what we do."
Fred concluded: "So it was, it was a way to explore and to interrogate ourselves and to interrogate the situation and to see where we are at and what's going to happen in the future."
