Coronation Street Bethany botched surgery clinic owner 'revealed' - and it's someone she knows
by Joe Crutchley · PlymouthLiveCoronation Street viewers are certain they know who is the secret owner of the cosmetic surgery clinic that performed botched liposuction on Bethany Platt.
In September, Bethany (Lucy Fallon) jetted off to Turkey on an all-expense paid trip to write about a cosmetic clinic over there. However, she was given an opportunity she couldn't refuse.
The beloved character went under the knife for liposuction, which ended in disaster as doctors were forced to operate. Bethany was left with a perforated bowel and life-threatening sepsis, and because of this, Bethany was fitted with a stoma bag - and now has it for life.
Her family were left panicking about hospital bills after it was made clear that her medical insurance wouldn’t cover the costs. As a result, Bethany’s grandmother Gail Platt (Helen Worth) ended up taking out a bridging loan.
Since arriving back home in Weatherfield, Bethany has struggled to come to terms with her new life. Not only has she pushed away her boyfriend Daniel (Rob Mallard), but Bethany was left mortified recently when her stoma bag leaked in front of everyone at the Rovers.
And over in the soap next week, Bethany attends her stoma support group and is later shown an article by mum Sarah (Tina O’Brien). The article states that the Turkish clinic she sued has had another botched operation.
Later on in the week, Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) - who introduced Bethany to the clinic - is left concerned when Bethany mentions suing the clinic for another operation gone wrong.
Solicitor Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) then advises Bethany and Sarah to demand compensation from a director of the Turkish clinic who happens to live in the UK - and when he reveals their name, they are shocked. Now, fans are certain they know who the director is - and it’s someone on the cobbles.
Over on a Corrie Facebook fan page, fans discussed the spoilers for next week on the cobbles. One person said: “I think the shock director is Debbie.” A second wrote: “I can see Debbie being an investor but not a director. But with the Corrie writers, you never know.”
A third chimed in: “Yeah that’s who I thought as well. I think she was asked about that earlier on in the story so I can see that coming back to haunt her.” Echoing their thoughts, someone else declared: “It’s definitely Debbie.”
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
