Coronation Street's Leanne unleashes revenge on Toyah and Nick - but it 'doesn't end well'

Coronation Street’s Leanne Battersby is set to get her revenge on sister Toyah and ex Nick - but it “doesn’t end well for anyone”.

Soap legend Leanne (Jane Danson) has had a dramatic past twelve months on the cobbles. Fans will recall how she was lured into the mysterious ‘self-help- group, The Institute, led by the sinister Rowan Cunliffe (Emrhys Cooper)

Leanne became invested in the cult, prioritising The Institute over her family and loved ones, including fiancé Nick (Ben Price) and sister Toyah (Georgia Taylor).

The pair shared their concerns over Leanne especially when Toyah was diagnosed with germ-cell ovarian cancer. With no one else to confide in, Nick and Toyah started to grow incredibly close - and it didn’t take long for one thing to lead to another.

Following a shock kiss, the pair ended up sleeping together. Unfortunately, the pair were caught out by Rowan - who snapped a photo of them during a passionate moment.

Showing his true colours, Rowan went on to blackmail Nick into investing in The Institute’s new resource centre. But in typical soap fashion, the truth about Toyah and Nick was discovered by Leanne - leaving her heartbroken and livid.

Since then, the dust has appeared to settle for Leanne, Nick and Toyah. Recently though, Nick and Toyah rekindled their romance - and plan to reveal all to Leanne.

But it seems Nick and Toyah might just regret doing that as Corrie boss Kate Brooks has now revealed that Leanne “wants to make them pay”. Teasing what Christmas on the cobbles looks like for the trio, Kate warned how Leanne’s revenge “doesn’t end well for anyone”.

The boss said: “You’ve got Leanne, who’s got her suspicions about Nick and Toyah, and I felt it was really important to see a different side to Leanne. She’s had a very tough year, she’s had The Institute which was all-consuming in many ways, but she’s a Battersby and she’s scrappy and she’s feisty.”

Kate continued: “And Toyah is so good and so brilliant and wonderful, and she sees the life that she had just being taken away from her.

"And rather than go down the route which is expected, of her taking it on the chin or moving on, she really wants to make them pay and she is really intent on getting her own revenge.

“Nick’s betrayal is one thing, but the betrayal of a sister is huge, and I just love that dynamic between Toyah and Leanne, I think it’s fantastic. That all comes to the forefront on Christmas Day and it doesn’t end well for anyone."
