Plymouth couple win £300,000 on National Lottery scratchcard and plan dream Las Vegas holiday

They have seven children and 20 grandchildren to treat!

A Plymouth couple are in the midst of planning a dream holiday to Las Vegas after winning £300,000 on a Luxury Lines National Lottery scratchcard. Robert Kittle, 58, and Julie Goodwin, 63, described the sensation as "surreal" when they revealed the winning symbols.

The first item on their agenda is to book their fantasy trip to Las Vegas, a "must-visit" location on their bucket list. The hope to fly out with Julie's two daughters and their families for a special family treat next year.

Robert, a construction worker, said: "We have talked about going to Las Vegas for a long time and it's been a dream of ours to go together, so being able to make it a reality is amazing. We never thought we'd get to go but to be able to take our family is an incredible feeling and we can't wait to make those memories all together."

Recalling their thrilling winning moment, he added: "I nipped to the shops to pick up a newspaper, but they didn't have any left when I saw the scratchcards I thought, 'why not?'

"I honestly just couldn't believe it when I started scratching off the symbols and saw that I had won...I checked it over and over, and even got my family members to double check before we realised that we'd won such a huge amount. It was very surreal seeing that amount of money in front of me!"

Robert and Julie, who boast a large family of seven children, 20 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, are taking a moment to consider how they'll spoil themselves and their loved ones after their stroke of luck.

They shared their joy, saying: "As well as being able to treat our family, we're looking forward to being able to enjoy some financial security in the future and have some of the stress of money taken away it still doesn't feel real!"

The National Lottery's Luxury Lines scratchcard offers players a 1 in 3.55 overall chance of winning, with the game priced at £3 and prizes ranging from £3 to the top prize of £300,000.
