Former I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! contestant Scarlette Douglas believes Coleen Rooney will do well in the jungle, if she stays true to herself. Wayne Rooney's wife is reportedly this year's highest-paid participant with a £1.5milllion fee.

When asked if Coleen justifies the hefty amount, Scarlette expressed confidence that the mother-of-four will excel at self-regulation. Speaking to Reach PLC through Sky Vegas, Scarlette said: "Coleen Rooney is already having to deal with quite a lot in the limelight.

"She's been on television before, she knows how it works. She has been a celebrity for quite a while now, so she'll be very good at monitoring herself."

However, Scarlette issued a caution to Coleen and her fellow contestants about acting differently in front of the cameras. "You've got to be careful, because when you're in the jungle, you're being filmed 24/7," she warned.

"You can't keep up appearances, and if you try to, you're going to get found out quickly." The A Place In The Sun host went on to say she admires Coleen for her authenticity, adding: "What you see is what you get.

"As long as she can be herself in there, she'll be fine. She'll do really well, and she'll love to immerse herself in the experience of it."

Scarlette also named N-Dubz star Tulisa Contostavlos and the rumoured late arrival Reverend Richard Coles as strong potential competitors.

Discussing Richard, she said: "With Richard Coles [supposedly] coming in later, I would say [he could do well], because I feel like he's had such an extravagant life and everything that he has been through – he could pretty much manage anything that is thrown at him."

She also shared her views on female contestants, stating: "I always think when women go in, we feel like we have something to prove, because we want to show that we are strong, we can do it, and we can do it as well as the guys, if not better!"

Scarlette believes Tulisa in particular could potentially go far in the series, adding: "There's always a really good chance with women. Tulisa will do well because she seems strong, and I don't think she is messing with anyone.

"I feel like she's going to prove to the nation that she can do this."

Other contestants joining Coleen and Tulisa in the jungle include Loose Women's Jane Moore, McFly's Danny Jones, Coronation Street's Alan Halsall, TikTok star GK Barry, and former Strictly Come Dancing professional Oti Mabuse.

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! airs tonight at 9pm on ITV and ITVX.
