Case against ‘provocative’ FB post on ADM’s death

The Kannur Town police have registered a case against the Facebook page, News of Malayalam, for the alleged posting of “provocative” and “misleading” content about the death of Additional District Magistrate (ADM) K. Naveen Babu. The complaint was filed by P.P. Shameel, Kannur Town SI, with the District Police Chief.

The case has been booked under Sections 353(2) and 192 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and the Section 120(o) of the Kerala Police Act 2011 on charge of creating public disorder through deliberate misinformation.
