DVAC raid in Thoothukudi

Officials from the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti Corruption (DVAC) seized ₹1.60 lakh unaccounted cash from the office of the sub registrar located near the new bus stand in Thoothukudi on Thursday.

Acting on a tip off, a team of officials led by Peter Paul, DSP of DVAC, raided the sub registrar office following complaints that bribe was being collected for document registrations in the office.

The office was locked down during the raid and no one was allowed to leave the premises. During the search unaccounted cash totalling ₹1.60 lakh was seized by the police. Further investigation was on.
