Dangling crane arm on Peters Road in Royapettah triggers panic

It was knocked loose due to strong winds. Subsequently, the arm was set right by the staff of the construction site where the crane had been set up

The arm of a crane at a construction site on Peters Road in Royapettah was seen dangling over the stretch on Wednesday. The crane had been set up at the site where a private firm was constructing a 19-storey building. Due to strong winds, the crane’s arm was knocked loose and dangled over a flyover on the stretch, causing motorists and pedestrians to panic. The traffic police closed off the portion of the road briefly. Subsequently, the staff of the construction site set right the crane arm.
