Works on PAP memorial 90 per cent complete

Construction on the Parambikulam Aliyar Project Memorial is nearing completion.

The AIADMK Government had announced the construction of a memorial hall in honour of V.K. Palanisamy Gounder, who was instrumental to the Paralmbikulam-Aliyar Project, which was completed in 1962.

With the DMK coming to power, it announced that the memorial would include statues of leaders who were responsible for the scheme and added that it would come up at the PAP office on Pollachi - Udumalpet road. The DMK Government sanctioned ₹2.29 crore and added that at the Aliyar dam park, a memorial would come up in memory of the martyrs who lost their lives in executing the project.
