In a press note, Mr. Rahul said that Mr. Gurajada Apparao, who wrote the play ‘Kanyasulkam’, brought laurels to Telugu literature with his playwritings, poems, novels and stories. Meanwhile, Gurajada Samskrutika Samkhya president Kapuganti Prakash said that the prestigious Gurajada annual puraskaram would be given to eminent stage artist, writer and director Meegada Ramalinga Swamy in a programme organised in Vizianagaram on November 30 (Saturday).

He said that the former Chief Justice of Supreme Court, Justice N.V. Ramana, would present the award to Mr. Ramalinga Swamy on behalf of the organisation. He said that the award function would take place at Ananda Gajapathi Kalakshetram after paying tributes to Mahakavi Gurajada, at his house which was converted into a museum by the Archaeology Department.
