BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Dianne Buswell says 'I promise' as fans flood her with 'never' reaction after final update
by Jessica Sansome · Manchester Evening NewsDianne Buswell has sent a 'promise' to fans which many are hoping she doesn't stick to following her momentous Strictly Come Dancing win.
The professional dancer is still riding high as the glitter settles on another run of the BBC One dance contest which ended with her and celebrity dance partner Chris McCausland being crowned the 2024 champions.
The pair won the hearts of the nation during their 13-week dancing journey which came to an end during the grand final on Saturday night (December 14).
They beat fellow finalists Miranda actress Sarah Hadland and partner Vito Coppola, Love Island star Tasha Ghouri and dancer Aljaz Skorjanec and JLS singer JB Gill and partner Lauren Oakley to lift the Glitterball trophy.
After Tess Daly announced them as this year's winners of the Strictly's 20th-anniversary series, Chris said it was "astonishing” to win. He cried and hugged his partner Dianne after the title was announced, with them both appearing to be in disbelief.
The 47-year-old said: "It’s astonishing. It’s – you know. I don’t know what to say. I honestly thought I could go out in the first week or two and I know no-one went out in the first week but I still thought I could."
Dianne has since been taking to social media to reflect on her and Chris' sensational series together and in her latest post, the Australian star gave fans a glimpse behind the scenes as she celebrated their win with her boyfriend Joe Sugg and her parents, Mark and Rina, as well as showing some bits from her and Chris' final week working together.
