BBC Strictly Come Dancing viewers stunned as celebrity 'almost drops' professional dance partner in live show
by Jessica Sansome · Manchester Evening NewsStrictly Come Dancing viewers were left stunned as they thought they saw one of the celebrities 'almost drop' their professional partner during the latest live show.
The seven remaining couples in the competition returned to the ballroom on Saturday night (November 23) as week ten of the BBC One dance contest got underway following last weekend's Blackpool spectacular.
Among the couples taking to the floor was JB Gill and Lauren Oakley. The JLS star and his professional dance partner picked up a near-perfect score of 39 out of a possible 40 for their lively Charleston to Yes Sir! That’s My Baby by Firehouse Five Plus Two.

Dressed in white trousers, a striped shirt and suspenders, JB, who was seen filming Channel 5 series On The Farm with former Strictly finalist Helen Skelton during his VT, performed a series of dramatic lifts with Lauren alongside showing off his quick footwork.
Craig Revel Horwood praised the routine as "pure class", while Motsi Mabuse said Gill has loosened up to now have the "right swag". Head judge Shirley Ballas also thanked Gill for bringing "so much joy" to the dancefloor as she described his performance as "amazing".
But while some Strictly fans rushed to social media to comment on how they thought the performance 'should have been' a perfect 40, others were distracted by what they thought was an almost-mistake from JB.
@zoecoatesxo said: "Yeah that was fun but NOT a 10. He nearly dropped her! #strictly." @SphealKent commented: "Sorry, JB *nearly dropped her* and gets a 9/10 from Craig/Motsi, yet Sarah does THAT, has "not enough chemistry", and gets 8/8??? Crazy. #Strictly." @moonlitsnowfall shared: "I’m sure JB almost dropped Lauren at one point, because I reacted when I saw it, so now I’m confused #Strictly."
@BadLipHotel posted: "That to me felt like an authentic Charleston? Like if I was watching it in a 1920s showreel I'd expect to see that. That said, I think he dropped her at one point, and it felt a little placed. I'm on an 8.5 I think. So an 8 (always round down) #Strictly." @SouthernCazza1 added: "These judges are taking the p**s! Ensuring that JB isn't in the dance off by scoring highly for a poorly executed dance! He nearly dropped her too #StrictlyComeDancing #Strictly."
