Marvin Humes has been opening up about his own experience in the jungle as he keeps up with the latest series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here.

The JLS star was among the famous faces who swapped their lives for the Australian jungle during the ITV reality show's 2023 series. After three weeks Down Under, the singer and DJ finished in sixth place with the show eventually won by Sam Thompson.

But ahead of Marvin's exit from camp, there was a tear-jerking moment where the campmates were reunited with a member of their family or a friend. It saw Rochelle seen heading into camp to see her other half, andthe hearts of viewers were melted across the country.

At the time, the former The Saturdays singer said: "I weirdly feel like I’m on a blind date, I feel like I’m a fan because I’ve been watching you on telly every night." Once together and hugging her, Marvin said: "That feels so good….I’m so grateful for everything in my life. This makes you so, so, so grateful. I know it sounds cheesy but it is life-changing, it really is."

Now, as 12 new famous faces call the jungle camp home, Marvin has opened up about his own experience. He said at the start of the series: "It’s going to be another incredible year. There are some great characters and big personalities."

He went on to OK! Magazine: "I’m close with Melvin [Odoom]. He’s a friend of ours – he worked with Rochelle on The Xtra Factor back in the day and I’ve known him through working in radio, but we are genuinely friends. I spoke to him a couple of weeks ago and he wanted to pick my brains. But I also told him it would be the greatest experience in his life."

On how he find taking part in I'm A Celeb, he shared: "What you see is what you get. There can be lots of sitting around in not comfortable places, like a wooden log, and obviously the food situation is tough. There were rats running around in the Bush Telegraph. There are obviously cameras everywhere, but it is a real jungle. But listen, on the flip side, it’s the best thing I’ve ever done.

"I wouldn’t ever have skydived, I wouldn’t ever have had snakes around my neck, eaten fish eyes and drunk the juice, and I would never have been in a tub of gravy with Nigel Farage singing Christmas carols. Not many people can say they have done that!"

But while his time on I'm A Celeb has been and gone, he's now supporting his JLS bandmate JB Gill on Strictly Come Dancing as he prepares to take part in the show's 20th-anniversary series' quarter-final this weekend.

The KISS FM DJ commented: "He’s absolutely smashing it. It’s such a tough show in a different way to the jungle, because your life is still going ahead. You need to fit in the dancing while you’ve got your family life and your other work. The demand is tougher but he’s killing it. We’ve been watching him and voting every week. The kids love watching Uncle J. Blake was copying his body ripples the other day!"
