Strictly Come Dancing star Carlos Gu has been given a major boost after not being given a celebrity partner this year. The dancer missed out on competing in the 2024 run of the BBC One dance contest.
Strictly returned with a brand new series back in September with hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman officially kicking off proceedings as they returned to the iconic ballroom.
The 20th-anniversary series is now heading into week nine - and its annual Blackpool special - but as fans know, some dancers e missed out on having dance partners this year. As well as Carlos, Lauren Oakley and Kai Widdrington were also not able to compete this year, however, Lauren has since been drafted in to replace Amy Dowden due to injury.

Carlos and Kai have will still very much be part of the series - and the 'Strictly Family' - and will appear in various dances already seen and to come for the rest of the season.
But it's been revealed that Carlos will join Kai in getting a partner for this year's Christmas special. It comes as Vogue Williams has been announced as the third celebrity taking part in this year’s festive edition of the hit dance show.
Vogue, 39, who is married to former Made In Chelsea star Spencer Matthews, will be partnered with professional dancer Carlos on the one-off edition of the BBC dancing show, of which she says she is “excited” to be a part.
She said: "I’m so excited to join the Strictly family. Carlos would have more of a chance of winning a Nobel Prize than turning me into a good dancer but I am determined to try my very best. I’m loving it so far, bring on the ballroom floor."
Six celebrities will perform festive routines to be crowned Strictly Christmas Champion 2024. Drag artist Tayce and comedian Josh Widdecombe have already been announced. Kai will perform with Tayce, the first drag artist to appear on Strictly, while Karen Hauer will partner Josh.
The remaining three celebrities will be announced on Strictly spin-off It Takes Two, where Vogue was revealed on Friday night (November 15).
