ITV I'm A Celebrity's Maura Higgins 'seals' win with one word as co-star branded 'lazy'

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here fans think Maura Higgins has 'sealed' her win by the use of just one word as her campmate was branded 'lazy'.

During the latest instalment of jungle action on Tuesday night (November 26), viewers of the ITV reality show saw the former Love Island star take on the latest Bushtucker trial alongside Loose Women star Jane Moore, which came of the back of the whole camp taking part in the Firght Bus.

The pair broke Dean McCullough's six-trial run of taking part in the main trials to win food for camp after viewers, and even show hosts Ant and Dec, pleaded for someone else to take on the dreaded tasks.

Making their way down to the trial clearing, Ant and Dec were waiting for them, and Ant had an observation for them based on the Fright Bus the night before, as he said: "You’re probably the screamiest bunch of celebrities we’ve ever had on this show!”"

Explaining what was in store for them, Ant and Dec told them that the trial was made up of two tunnels: one above ground, and one below ground. The celebrity above ground would need to find the secret code words hidden in their tunnel, reading them out to the celebrity below ground who would be underwater and would need to use the code words to unlock the stars. Maura took the above ground tunnel, and Jane the below water based tunnel.

With 12 minutes to collect 12 stars, the klaxon sounded and Maura had to move through the tunnels, searching through the sand on the floor of each part for hidden code words, while joined by a different guest in each, including toads, lizards, and her worst fear - spiders.

Meanwhile, Jane swam through the water tunnels but struggled with the water element when her goggles steamed up and she struggled to keep her head down underwater for the time needed to unlock the stars.

In the end, Jane and Maura won six out of 12 stars for camp, and got praised by Ant and Dec who said: "That was a very, very tough Trial, so I think you did remarkably the pair of you, you should both be very proud." On the way back, an emotional Maura got teary over conquering her fears.

But it was during the trial when events got tense that viewers' attention was piqued as Jane seemed to struggle with Maura's Irish accent when it came to spelling the word Boat. She spelled out the word clearly and loudly, but Jane couldn't understand that she was saying the letter "A". As Jane repeatedly asked what the letter she couldn't understand was, Maura eventually lost her patience and shouted: "A! For a**hole!"

And it quickly saw fans flocking to social media. @JeremycorBAEn_ said: "A for A**HOLE! Maura has to win #imaceleb." @dagiye echoed: "A for ass***e. Maura must win! #ImACeleb #imacelebrity2024." @elliot_gonzalez posted: "Maura screaming “A for a**hole” needs to win BAFTAs Must See Moment next year. #ImACeleb." @dellderek88 wrote: "Maura for the win man she’s class #ImACeleb."

But some were quick to call out Jane as they felt Maura carried the trial and could have won more stars if she was doing the trial solo. @katie_dxnn said: "Can we all agree Maura did amazing and Jane was lazy #imaceleb." @HiLucyMae commented: "Jane harping on about doing a trial and she barely does anything whilst making up 20 excuses for her poor effort #imaceleb."

@courts_mayx wrote: "Maura had it harder than Jane, she went through every box. Jane begged to do a trial and didnt even attempt half of it. Hats of to Maura #imacelebrity2024." @joshhaler added: "Maura feeling bad for stalling in the trial when its janes fault for their lack of stars is heartbreaking #ImACeleb."
