BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans make Pete Wicks claim and say 'just goes to show'

by · Manchester Evening News

Strictly Come Dancing fans were quick to make a claim about Pete Wicks latest stint in the ballroom. This weekend, the reality star ditched the pink PVC trousers for a darker, more sophisticated look as he hit the dance floor with Jowita Przystal.

After last weekend's eye-popping performance during the show's annual Blackpool special, in which he performed a cha cha cha to Right Said Fred's I'm Too Sexy, Pete kicked off the latest live show with an elegant tango which landed him a score of 29 out of a possible 40.

Dressed in an all-black suit, podcast host and former TOWIE star Pete guided and dipped his professional partner Jowita across the dancefloor to Easy Lover by Philip Bailey and Phil Collins.

Head judge Shirley Ballas hailed him as "quite an extraordinary performer" and that this week she loved that he was "focused on the job at hand". Meanwhile, Motsi Mabuse said the routine "really suits" Pete and complimented his top line.

And Strictly fans were quick to make the same observation as they supported podcast host Pete's performance. @livvyfinn said: "This was undermarked. I love the way you can see just how much Pete has grown in confidence since Week 1." @tamarwright commented: "Just goes to show he's actually not that bad a dancer when they don't make him the joke act."

@freyjaygentree noted: "He’s improving so much!! Not to the level of someone like Tasha or Sarah but they have some form of performing background he doesn’t!" @yourschloex shared: "Pete is an example of what Strictly is all about: a non-dancer getting better each week. I know there are better dancers in the competition and yes it’s lovely to watch these more experienced celebs but it’s really been a joy to watch Pete discover a love of dancing. #Strictly."

@deb.50h13 added: "When it comes to who has come, the furthest in this competition, Pete and Chris are the two. Started from nothing, what they have achieved is outstanding. Tasha, Sarah, and JB all have a form of experience. It has been clear to me that the production team and panel are biased towards the more experienced dancers. Surely the journey is an important part. Whatever happens @p_wicks01 be proud of yourself. You and Jowita have been outstanding."
