Coronation Street star Andy Whyment has revealed the one thing that'll get to Alan Halsall in I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here as he told how he wants him to do a Bushtucker Trial.

The 43-year-old actor has appeared alongside Alan, who stars as Tyrone Dobbs, in the ITV soap for more than 20 years and now that his co-star is competing on the broadcaster's jungle reality show, he has called for him to face one of the grisly challenges to win food for the camp.

Speaking on Lorraine with Lorraine Kelly on Monday (November 25), he said: "I think he's doing really well. I'd like to see a bit more of him. I think being Camp Leader doesn't really help because he can't really get involved in anything, that's not done him any favours really. But I just want him to do a trial. Please hope for him to a trial."

So far, radio host Dean McCullough has faced the most trials, whilst others such as 'Loose Women' star GK Barry and WAG Coleen Rooney have also had a turn.

Alan was previously married to former co-star Lucy-Jo Hudson and has daughter Sienna, 11, who he's been sending a secret single to while in camp, Revealing the truth behind Alan’s secret signal, Andy said: "The only time you know when the camera is on you is when Ant and Dec are saying who’s doing the trial. So every time they say Alan, he always goes like that [makes heart shape with hands] which is just a sign to Sienna [his daughter].

He continued: "Sienna is the only thing that really really gets him emotional and I know he’s really missing her so that’s why every time they say ‘Alan, it’s not you’, he’s doing that as a sign so that Sienna knows that he’s thinking of her."

Andy spoke about Alan in the jungle on ITV's Lorraine

Andy braved the Australian outback himself in 2019 and revealed that the only advice he gave to his colleague was that he needed to get a bed in the jungle as opposed to a hammock.

He said: "I knew he was going in, the only advice I gave him was 'Please try and get a bed' because I had to sleep in a hammock. And, for me, sleeping in a hammock was so tough. I really did struggle with it. But obviously he got Camp Leader so he got a nice comfortable bed. Not sure if he's got a bed now because we've not seen too much of him. But I hope he has."
