Air ambulance deployed as child taken to hospital with head injury

A child has been taken to hospital following a road traffic collision on Coronation Drive in Leigh Higher Folds. An air ambulance was spotted at the scene this afternoon as emergency services arrived.

Emergency services attended the scene, including Greater Manchester Police. GMP told the Manchester Evening News that they were called to the scene at around 15.40 this afternoon following reports of the road traffic collision.

A spokesperson for GMP said that following the collision a child was taken to hospital to receive treatment for head injuries. The injuries are not believed to be serious at this time, according to GMP.

The spokesperson added that no arrests have been made in relation to the incident on Coronation Drive this afternoon.
