BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans 'sick of it' as Jamie Borthwick complaint returns amid 'fear'
by Jessica Sansome · Manchester Evening NewsStrictly Come Dancing fans have said they're 'sick' of the criticism Jamie Borthwick receives as the same complaints seemingly return week after week.
The BBC dance competition returned to screens on Saturday night (November 19) but it wasn't from its usual studio home as the show relocated to the iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom for its annual special, in which the eight remeaining couples took to the famous ballroom floor in a bid to impress the judges and viewers at home.
EastEnders star Jamie was last out on the night and performed a condiment-themed jive to The Ketchup Song by Las Ketchup with his professional dance partner Michelle Tsiakkas.

In simply epic scenes, the actor was lowered onto the stage on a giant ketchup bottle before jumping into his routine, surrounded by back-up dancers dressed up as mustard and tomato sauce bottles.
As the judges delivered their verdicts on his dance, Motsi Mabuse burst out laughing, telling Borthwick that no-one wants to “dance so much as you”, calling it a “fantastic way” to end the show.
However, Shirley Ballas, Strictly's head judge, criticised the dance for being "overtried just a tad", while praising the “absolute entertainment” before the couple finished with a score out of 33 out of a possible points.
And it's fair to say fans weren't happy about Jamie's mixed bag of comments, despite the very respectable score. @yh5000 said: "The judges were so harsh again. I love the joy and enthusiasm he brings to his performances. Well done Jamie and Michelle."
@wil_umax commented: "I absolutely loved this, I’m not sure why the judges undermarked this; definitely the dance of the night in my opinion, big well done." @emmalouise1223 wrote: "Absolutely brilliant, don't know what the judges were watching." @kearney.ks posted: "Fear he knows he just needs to enjoy his time dancing with Michelle because the judges just rip him to shreds afterwards regardless."

@shnicky4eva shared: "I'm sick of the judges being overly harsh on Jamie, picking him apart and not others." @rachel.09.xx typed: "Incredible! THE BEST DANCE OF THE NIGHT FOR SURE!! These judges are seriously getting ridiculous now!!! They have been towards the bottom of the leaderboard for 3 weeks now and it’s pathetic!! Always gonna vote for Jamie and Michelle!! I absolutely LOVED this dance! Even if the scores were a complete joke!!"
@jilly.monk added: "Jamie don’t listen to the judges tonight. They’ve obviously been told to find fault with you. Your Mum’s eye roll said exactly what we were all thinking. You were superb." It comes after Jamie's parents came to watch him in action live in the studio audience and his mum was seen looking impressed at the comments her son was getting from the judges.
@xx_klw_xx said: "They like to criticise Jamie don’t they, my eyes were rolling more than his mums!" @gillian.wheeler commented: "Jamie's mums eye roll was how we all felt after listening to the judges….nit picking at its finest." @rebeccarydings added: "Loved seeing Jamie's mum rolling her eyes at him being over criticised again! #StrictlyComeDancing #Strictly."
