by Miranda Pell · Manchester Evening NewsThe sister of I'm A Celebrity star Danny Jones has backed him to be King of the Jungle - saying how his tears in camp “killed” her.
Last week McFly star Danny Jones opened up to his fellow campmates about his life-long struggle with mental health, having experienced panic attacks since he was 18.

She said: “When I saw him get emotional, it killed me because I just wanted to give him a hug. He is a really emotionally intelligent person, and I really admire that he was able to open up about his anxiety.
“I think in sharing that vulnerable moment in front of the nation, a lot of people could relate, so hopefully that helped someone out there struggling too.”
Last week I'm A Celebrity viewers watched as Danny broke down in tears as he opened up on his 20-year struggle with anxiety. He revealed that he has been in therapy since he was 19, and also once had a panic attack on live TV during an interview.
Elder sister Vix, 40, said that his honesty would help smash the stigma associated with men and mental health. She added: “I think it’s so important to see people share their mental health journeys, especially men, as there is still such a stigma we are fighting to break.
“I was so grateful of how the campmates rallied around him in that moment though, it made me very emotional. To show those layers to the public is very brave. A man who can sell out arenas as a musician and can also talk openly about his feelings is very special.”
Vix, who took part in the third series of talent show The Voice, and Danny are so close that he walked her down the aisle when she got married.
Asked if he could triumph in the Jungle, she said: “Absolutely - we are all behind him 100%. Whatever happens he will be the King in our eyes.”
She added: “I am so incredibly proud of him – we are really close so I am missing being able to message and speak with him but I am so happy the British public are able to see what a genuine, funny and kind person he really is.”
Vix said she was particularly taken with his bromance with Barry McGuigan.
She said: “Danny gravitates to warm, kind-hearted, good people so I can imagine those are the vibes he picked up from Barry. Barry is also an older man with a lot of life experience and wisdom, so Danny will respect that, and love to learn from him. I’m so pleased Danny has that bond in there.”
Her favourite moment so far has been his willingness to get everyone up singing.
“That always seems to give the camp a positive lift and brings people together. And we cannot forget the snake in the trousers - an absolute iconic moment which will go down in history.”
Away from the cameras, Vix says he is the “most positive person I know.”
She added: “He’s one of those people who are good at everything - whether you need cheering up, life advice, or a shelf fixing - Danny is your man. He’s a brilliant Dad and uncle, kids adore him and I love the relationship he has with his wife Georgia, they can find humour in any situation, it’s gorgeous to watch them together.”
