BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Lauren Oakley forced 'not to judge' as JB Gill reveals secret with sweet twist

by · Manchester Evening News

JB Gill and Lauren Oakley have made honest admissions to each other ahead of the Strictly Come Dancing final - and they weren't allowed to judge each other over what they said.

The pair have spent another week hard at work in training after making it through to the final of the BBC One dance contest, which will take place on Saturday night (December 14). The duo will return to the show's famous ballroom for one last time alongside fellow finalists, Sarah Hadland and Vito Coppola, Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell and Tasha Ghouri and Aljaz Skorjanec, as they all perform three dances each in the last week of the competition.

JB and Lauren secured their place in the Strictly 2024 final after they hit the ballroom floor last Saturday night (December 7) during the semi-final of the hit dance show. Lauren has helped JB through to the penultimate week of the competition after replacing his original dance partner, Amy Dowden.

Ahead of the final, it's been confirmed that JB and Lauren will perform a Show Dance to a Motown Medley, a Viennese Waltz to Let’s Go Fly A Kite from Mary Poppins and a Samba to Mas Que Nada by Sergio Mendes.

But in a break from rehearsals, JB and Lauren decided to jump on a social media trend which sees people say, 'We Listen and We Don’t Judge', before saying something they've wanted to tell their partner, friend or someone else they know, without them answering back.

Lauren went first saying it was 'gross' when they were practising one of their quicker routines and JB's sweat-soaked clothes rubbed onto hers and therefore made her sweat-covered too. JB also confessed to waking Lauren up early on their car journeys in between training so that he can talk about the routine.

At the end of the clip, JB confessed to throwing away Lauren's tape for her shoes as she thought her shoes were broken and she was 'embarrassed' to admit it. He sweetly shared how he was going to buy her new dance shoes until he realised the tape was to help her turn across the floor quicker, but the tape was already in the bin.

Captioning the post, JB wrote: "We’re in the FINAL of @bbcstrictly and we’ve learned to listen and don’t judge! #trainingroom #fun #listen #dontjudge." Fans were quick to see the funny side but JB was quickly praised for his gesture towards Lauren, even if it was misunderstood.

Bless you!" @sam__thompson__fanpage replied: "Love this." @ruby_sparkle3 added: "Omg this was so funny. I am going to miss you guys."
