ITV I'm A Celebrity fans 'work out' real show tension for Dean McCullough and say 'sick of it'
by Jessica Sansome · Manchester Evening NewsI'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here fans think they've 'worked out' the real source of tension for Dean McCullough on the show - and it isn't between him and his campmates.
The camp Down Under had been a happy and harmonious one for the best part of the first week of the ITV reality show's 2024 series following its launch last Sunday (November 17). However, the first rumbles of upset came to the forefront over the weekend between Dean and Alan Halsall.
It came after a huge helping of junk food after latecomers Maura Higgins and Richard Coles' sneaky secret mission and stomach-churning eating trial saw them win a huge treat for the whole camp.
Following their feast, a sleepy Dean decided to take a nap. But with chores still to do, Jane Moore had to go and collect firewood, . She confessed in keeping with camp rules: "I can’t do it on my own". Watching Jane head off on her own, Alan decided to take the reins and wake Dean up so he could help out.
It lead to a slight moody confrontation between the two but they have seemingly squashed any potential beef. Then, during Monday night's (November 24) I'm A Celeb instalment, Jane Moore's feathers were ruffled. It came as the latest instalment of jungle action saw former boxing champion Barry McGuigan and McFly Danny star Jones appointed as the new leaders of the camp after a public vote, and reassigning the chores amongst the campmates was their first order of duty.
Tensions were raised in the camp after they put Jane, 62, and N-Dubz star Tulisa Contostavlos, 36, on washing up. After the appointment, Jane exclaimed and asked: “Is that because we’re women?”

Former Irish athlete Barry denied their gender influenced their decision, saying: “We were looking at you for possible water, and I thought that you’re 62 years old, you’re a year younger than me..." But before he finished his point, Jane branded his decision "ageist and sexist".
But I'm A Celeb fans don't think the issue of tension is just in camp but think it is evident between Dean and host Ant McPartlin with the pair having encountered each other on several occasions due to the BBC Radio 1 star having been chosen by the public to take on several Bushtucker Trials so far.
