Strictly Come Dancing fans have called one of the show's stars 'bluff' after being blown away by the 'kindest moment ever seen' during the grand final.

The hit BBC One dance contest came to an end for another year on Saturday night (December 14) following a spectacular two-and-a-half-hour show.

Chris McCausland, who made history as Strictly's first blind winner, and dancer Dianne Buswell beat Miranda actress Sarah Hadland and partner Vito Coppola, Love Island star Tasha Ghouri and dancer Aljaz Skorjanec and JLS singer JB Gill and partner Lauren Oakley to be crowned the 2024 series champions.

It also marks the first win for Dianne, who has made it to the final with social media star Joe Sugg in 2018, and Eastenders actor and model Bobby Brazier in 2023

But it was an earlier moment between Chris and Craig that hit viewers right in their feels. After his final dance, a Waltz to Liverpool anthem You'll Never Walk Alone, Chris left many of the judges, audience members and viewers at home in tears. Becoming tearful himself, Chris hugged his partner Dianne as they both crumbled at the emotions of the night.

Craig Revel Horwood says his “eyes opened” after visiting the studio to see them train during the final week, and in a move never seen on Strictly Come Dancing also read out a poem to the comedian, which he's called an 'Ode to Chris'. He said: "In a world of darkness, you’ve learned to dance and slay, with every step you’ve found your way.

"You’ve taught the world anything can be done, As long as you don’t stick out your bum! Though shoulders raised, lack of swing & sway, With every heel lead you discovered the day, A heart that dances pure & free, Is worth much more than a ten from me. You’re a light that shines for all to see!"

It was an emotional moment during the final

All of the other judges got up to give Craig a hug, before Craig was called over by Chris for a hug of his own. Shorlty after, host Claudia Winkleman went on to say that Chris had "broken" Craig. And fans were quick to respond on the night and after Craig shared his poem online.

@Wandoful said: "That poem was possibly the nicest thing I’ve ever seen Craig do on Strictly. No matter his scores for Chris, that is the kindest moment I’ve ever seen #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing." @Caz780477450492 shared: "Ok @CraigRevHorwood just broke me with his poem to Chris #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing."

@Karen_acts commented: "You are a sweetheart under the bluff. Your words honest and truly reflect what millions felt watching Chris and Diane week on week. Their partnership has been a joyous thing to behold." @absolutelyamyyy wrote: "Honestly that poem had me in floods of tears. So beautiful. I really want you and Chris to get your own TV show!" @emsth0ughts added: "Craig DOES have a heart. I’m weeping over his little poem #Strictly."
