Dianne Buswell has shared what 'people don't realise' about Chris McCausland's time on Strictly Come Dancing as some claimed it was his time 'to go'.

The comedian and his professional dance partner are currently back in training having made it through to week 11 of the BBC One dance contest - which marks the quarter final stage of the competition.

It came after there were tear-jerking scenes in the ballroom for professional dancer Dianne over the weekend as her parents, Rina and Mark, were in the audience to watch their daughter perform live in the ballroom for the first time since she joined Strictly seven years ago.

Before Dianne and comedian Chris took to the floor for their latest performance, co-host Tess Daly headed over to welcome Rina and Mark, who are visiting from Australia, into the ballroom. She then let Mark do the honours of introducing Dianne and Chris to the floor with their Paso Doble to El Gato Montes by Manuel Panella.

They then performed their routine to mixed reviews from the judges, landing a them a score of 33 out of a possible 40. But their were more emotional scenes as Mark ended up in tears and was seen embracing his wife as they watched their little girl dance with absolute pride.

It was then during Sunday night's (November 24) results show that Chris and Dianne's fate in the competition was confirmed as it was revealed the pair have made it through to the quater finals of Strictly's 20th-anniversary series, which will be the show's annual Musicals Week, in which they'll perform a Quickstep to You’re The Top from Anything Goes.

But as they get to work on their next routine, Dianne took to Instagram with a message to those who have been witnessing their dance journey together on Strictly this year.

She shared a smiling snap of them both taken over the weekend in their Paso outfits and wrote on her Instagram Story: "Massive appreciation for this guy! Things people don't realise is that for 11 weeks now Chris has no idea what each dance is! By this tage, everybody has seen what each dance looks like, to have an idea!

"Chris doesn't get that opportunity, nor does he get to watch himself and see what he can improve on from week to week! So I just want to show my appreciation to this incredible man! Keep going Chris."

And it comes after some suggested Chris 'needs to go' as the songs and dances for this weekend were revealed. But jumping to his defence, with @kendalw_ replying: "I’ll give him an extra vote just for you. If you have nothing nice to say…" @abs_donnelly_lakita asked: "Why? He isn’t the worst and he has had zero experience prior to the show." @evacdolan added: "CHRIS NEEDS TO WIN."
