Davina McCall boyfriend issues update as star undergoes brain surgery
by Kit Roberts · Manchester Evening NewsDavina McCall's partner Michael Douglas has shared an update on Instagram on behalf of the presenter. The iconic TV star has recently undergone surgery after being diagnosed with a brain tumour.
McCall announced this morning that she was going to undergo brain surgery to remove a 14mm benign brain tumour. In an emotional video, the star told her fans: "I was offered a health scan which I thought I was going to ace but it turned out I had benign brain tumour."
She added that the tumour is "very rare". McCall then asked her fans to keep her in their thoughts while she underwent the surgery.

Since then, Davina's partner took to the account on her behalf to offer an update. In a text post, he shared that she was out of surgery and recovering.
Captioning the post with 'an update from me', he wrote in a statement: "Hey all. Davina is out of surgery and according to the surgeon it was textbook! She's currently recovering in ICU as a precaution, as you can imagine she's utterly exhausted. Thanks so much for all the love from everyone on here.. it's powerful stuff, we are super grateful. Michael xx."
Friends and fans piled into the comment to offer their support and well wishes to the the TV star.

Former X-Factor host Kate Thornton wrote: "So relieved to hear it went well. Thinking of you all and sending love for the speediest of recoveries x." She was joined by Loose Women panellist Katie Piper, who wrote: "Good to hear. We are all thinking of you Davina."
A fan added: "Amazing! The nation is literally rooting for you Davina!! You’ve got this!"
In a post earlier this morning, McCall said she was in 'great shape' but will be 'off grid' for her recovery. In a caption to a video, Douglas wrote: "Hey everyone. Michael here. @davinamccall will be 'off grid' for a bit while she recovers from this brain operation. She is in great shape and in very good hands.
"I'll do the odd update from her account here for anyone interested. I'm sure she'll read all the comments when she's able to so feel free to send love [heart emoji] . The support of people is amazingly powerful. Have a great day everyone. Michael xxx."
