The Strictly Come Dancing finalists showed their 'true colours' as Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell were crowned this year's champions.

The comedian had already made history before lifting the Glitterball trophy on Saturday night (December 14) during the show's glittering grand final as the first-ever blind contestant on the show.

Alongside professional dancer Dianne Buswell, the pair captured the hearts of the nation over the past 13 weeks and during the spectacular grand final, the pair beat Miranda actress Sarah Hadland and partner Vito Coppola, Love Island star Tasha Ghouri and dancer Aljaz Skorjanec and JLS singer JB Gill and partner Lauren Oakley.

After being announced as the winner, Chris said: "This is for her (Dianne) and it’s for everyone out there that thought and got told they couldn’t do something. It just shows with opportunity and support and determination, anything can happen.”

He also thanked Australian dancer Dianne, saying: "She deserves this so much. She’s just honestly one of the easiest people to be funny with – and unless she changes her number, she’s stuck with me."

Following the final, the stars of Strictly have been speaking out in support of Chris and Dianne's win but their true feelings about this year's winner has now been uncovered.

Body language and behavioural expert Darren Stanton has revealed that Chris was 'totally gobsmacked' and in 'disbelief' after scooping the Glitterball trophy alongside partner Dianne. The 47-year-old gave pro dancer Dianne her first ever Strictly win after being on the show since 2017, but Darren reveals Chris 'wasn’t expecting it at all', shown by his 'still' facial expressions in the immediate moments after the result was announced.

Speaking on behalf of Betfair Casino, Darren claims the pair are the 'closest a couple have been' in terms of 'platonic rapport' he has ever witnessed on the programme. He also noted that the three other couples in the final were 'genuinely elated' to see Chris and Dianne win on Saturday night, with no signs of smugness or arrogance, instead quickly 'covering them in love and admiration'.

He said: "It was really lovely to see the three other couples' reaction, not a single moment where they didn’t seem genuinely happy for Chris and Dianne. No signs of arrogance or smugness from them at all. It was genuine and authentic elation.

"The way they ran towards Chris and Dianne and put their arms around them and just covered them in love and admiration. Everyone has respect for them both because they worked so hard and remained super humble."
