XO, Kitty season 2 trailer unexpected star returns as fans say 'just fell to my knees'

The show is a spin-off of Netflix's To All The Boys series that stars Lara Jean's sister, Kitty Song Covey. The first season followed Kitty as she decides to uproot her whole life and move to Seoul, Korea to be with her long-distance boyfriend Dae. She attends the same high school as her late mother, but struggles to navigate her love life as she develops feelings for popular girl Yuri near the end of the series.
Anna Cathcart who plays Kitty commented that it's "really about Kitty learning that love can look a lot of different ways and that it's not something that you necessarily can figure out super easily."

After the series ends with Kitty seeing Yuri with her new girlfriend, series two trailer shows that although the protagonist still has feelings for her friend, she's ready to explore the dating world, and to "finally discover who my mum really was".
Much to the surprise of fans of the shower, To All The Boys alum Peter Kavinsky showed up in Seoul to surprise Kitty. In the trailer Peter tells Kitty: "You are Kitty Song freakin' Covey. Don't you forget it" before embracing her in a hug.
One fan took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share their excitement: "PETER KAVINSKY??? lord thank you for almost bringing my family back together now all we need is Lara Jean @siwanluvr3000." Another user echoed: "PETER KAVINSKY?! had me giggling, kicking my feet @megcarr."
A third was also elated with the news: "I JUST FELL TO MY KNEES OMFG @KelisCampos1".

Viewers are already in a debate with which couple they want to be endgame, one user said: "Team Minho @Pr0d_SPEARB", with another adding "we will be seated for them @Farahacreations", and a third: "Minho and Kitty endgame when!!! @SC5lucky3".
Other fans of the series are hoping Kitty manages to begin her relationship with Yuri instead: "'I'm not over Yuri' I SCREAMED @clinesbabie", and another user agreed: "Kittyuri endgame @diapermcfatass".
Showrunner Jessica O'Toole who also worked on Charmed, commented on Noah Centineo reprising his role as Peter Kavinsky: "It was amazing to watch Anna and Noah together on set; they have so much love and respect for each other and you can feel it in their scenes together. This season of 'XO, Kitty' is all about where Kitty is going but also where she came from." Adding that it was "so exciting" to include Peter in the journey and see how he interacts with viewers favourite XO, Kitty characters.
Not to mention, it includes "some big moments fans have been waiting for and others they will never see coming."
XO, Kitty season two will be available to stream on Netflix on 16th January.
