ITV I'm A Celebrity fans say 'wait' as Barry McGuigan suddenly 'replaced'
by Jessica Sansome · Manchester Evening NewsI'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here fans were left confused as Barry McGuigan was suddenly replaced. The latest instalment of jungle action saw a major change in camp as the 12 campmates were divided into three teams.
BBC Radio 1 presenter Dean McCullough, Coronation Street actor Alan Halsall and McFly singer Danny Jones took on The Rank Bank Bushtucker Trial, with their fellow campmates invited along to watch. Presenters Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly explained: “Jungle life is about to get very expensive..."
They added: "Everyday essentials in camp are going to cost you money and to pay for them you’ll have to use your jungle cash card. You’re going to be split into three teams."

The trio were the first members of the teams, with each having a different colour cash card. Dean, Jane Moore, Coleen Rooney and Melvin Odoom made up the pink team; Alan, Tulisa Contostavlos, Richard Coles and Barry formed the blue team; while Danny, Maurea Higgins, Oti Mabuse and GK Barry joined the orange team.
Dean, Alan and Danny were then tasked with earning money for their team’s cash card by completing four races, with the winner awarded 300 dollars, second place taking 200 dollars and third collecting 100 dollars if they completed the task within the time limit.
In the first race, the trio were asked to empty a deposit box filled with raw pig testicles; in the second, they had to battle to collect three coins from a box of fish guts; and for the third, they were tasked with squeezing the juice out of fish eyes into a shot glass.
For the first three races contestants were only allowed to use their mouths, but in the final task they had to put their hands into a hole filled with critters in order to unscrew three coins as quickly as possible. At the end of the trial, Halsall’s blue team finished with the most money with 1,100 dollars, while the pink and orange teams were tied on 500 dollars each.

The group returned to find a new-look camp, complete with turnstiles to use the toilet, shower, pool and bath at 10 dollars a visit, along with a vending wall, depositing fresh filtered water and logs for the fire, priced at 10 dollars per item. There was also a treat machine where campmates could buy extra treats for camp.
But at the end of Thursday night's (November 28) instalment of jungle action that viewers could now start voting for their favourite celebrities, with the campmate with the least number of votes set to leave the jungle, with the exits starting on Friday night's (November 29) show.
I'm A Celeb fans will now have to vote for their favourite celebrities to keep them in camp. Previously, viewers had been voting for who they wanted to take on the dreaded bushtucker trials but from now on, the campmates will decide who will try to win food for camp.
And as they got to take the Bushtucker trials into their own hands, it was Barry and Oti who were decided to take on the next trial, Tanks of Torture. However, a post on I'm A Celeb's Instagram page confirmed the trial would actually be taken on my Oti and Melvin, with it revealed on spin-off 'Unpacked' that the campmates had changed their mind.
But the social media update left some confused. @jxstinmxndoza asked: "Wait, wasn’t it meant to be Barry." @janetteduffy2018 echoed: "I thought it was Oti and Barry?" @kanoel_fabrics referred to a previous trial and said: "I thought it was Barry and Oti? Was Barry taken out cos he can't see????" @halfordsue added: "What's happened to Barry? Was looking forward to seeing him do a trial."
