Strictly Come Dancing fans were stunned as they 'spotted' a Coronation Street star in the ballroom - but all wasn't as it seemed. The BBC One dance contest returned on Saturday night (November 23).

Week ten of the BBC One dance contest arrived and saw the seven remaining couples return to the usual Strictly ballroom at Elstree Studios following last weekend's Blackpool spectacular which saw the show broadcast live from the world-famous Tower Ballroom.

Those who tuned in would have seen that the latest live show couldn't have gone any better for Love Island star Tasha Ghouri as she was awarded the first perfect score of 40 of Strictly's 2024 series for her elegant American Smooth with her partner Aljaz Skorjanec.

Donning a flowing silver gown with a sparkly bodice, the 26-year-old delivered a series of high lifts and dips to Someone You Loved by Lewis Capaldi for the performance.

Head judge Shirley Ballas praised it as the "Rolls-Royce" of the American Smooth while Craig Revel Horwood described it as "fab-u-lous” Motsi Mabuse hailed it as "perfection" and said Tasha had brought the poignant song to life. and Anton Du Beke, who got emotional during the performance, added that this is why dancers perform because of "how it makes us feel".

As the last performer of the night, she had to do a quick change out of her flowing silver gown with a sparkly bodice into a blue sparkly dress with tulle detailing for a second number - the return of the Dance-A-Thon. It saw all the couples perform the samba simultaneously while the judges looked on.

Tasha picked up an additional six points as she was voted runner-up behind JLS star JB Gill, who was named the winner of the dance, landing seven points. Earlier in the night, JB secured a score of 39 out of 40 after delivering a series of dramatic lifts with his professional partner Lauren Oakley.

Dressed in white trousers, a striped shirt and braces, the pop star flipped Oakley upside down and in a cartwheel spin as well as showing off his quick footwork during his lively Charleston to Yes Sir! That’s My Baby by Firehouse Five Plus Two.

Craig praised the routine as "pure class", while Mabuse said Gill has loosened up to now have the "right swag". Shirley also thanked Gill for bringing "so much joy" to the dancefloor as she described his performance as "amazing".

And it was Lauren who caused a bit of a distraction as she swapped her gorgeous brunette pixie cut for a short blonde bob during her latest appearance on the dance floor and Strictly fans couldn't help but compare her to former Corrie great Amanda Barrie, best known for playing Alma Halliwell in the ITV soap on and off for 20 years.

Lauren as Amanda Barrie? #Strictly @amandabarrie11."

@beanies_masato shared: "Other half said Lauren looks like a young Amanda Barrie with that hair and I agree. #Strictly." @Kaylalula added: "Just watching #Strictly this morning and amazed at how much Lauren looks like a young Amanda Barrie in her Charleston wig!"
