Gorka Marquez has been flooded with the same messages from fans after he was left emotional by Gemma Atkinson's update about their family.

The Strictly Come Dancing star has been able to spend more time at home following his exit from the BBC One dance contest last month (October). Gorka was eliminated from the show alongside celebrity dance partner Dr Punam Krishan following the show's Halloween special.

While competing in the hit dance show, while they performed each weekend at Elstree, the London-based studio, Gorka was also busy training alongside partner Dr Punam in Glasgow, where the practising GP is based and was juggling being on the show with her NHS work.

But following Strictly's Halloween special at the end last month, Gorka and Dr Punam were eliminated from the competition, meaning the former's time in Scotland came to an end and he was able to return to Greater Manchester to be back with his family.

Speaking to the Manchester Evening News on the red carpet at the MTV EMAs 2024, which took place on Sunday (November 10) at Co-op Live, Gemma joked of her beau's early exit from the hit dance show: "It's fabulous because he can do some school runs for once. It gives me a break."

Now, Gorka is soaking up time with his family and on Thursday (November 28), he shared a string of sweet snaps to Instagram in which he could be seen preparing to head into the crisp Greater Manchester chill with his two children - Mia and Thiago - by sporting cosy beanie hats.

Alongside the post, the Spanish dancer wrote: "It’s a beanie day. Thiagos face in the second photo." Gemma was among the first to respond, writing: "Still no idea whose / where Mias hat has come from." Gorka's Strictly co-stars were also quick to comment with Karen Hauer writing: "Adorable," while Amy Dowden posted: "Just love."

Beautiful Mum,Dad,and children!! Love your hats!!"

It comes after Gemma thanked fans for their messages of love and support following a heartbreaking family update. The Hits Radio host was left devastated over the summer following the death of one of her beloved dogs.

She announced the news at the end of June, saying: "My beautiful boy Norman has passed away. My heart is broken," alongside a moving video featuring pictures and clips of him from over the years with her and fellow dog Ollie, as well as her fiancé Gorka and their two children.

Gemma has since shared regulalr updates on how she and her family have been coping with the loss, including Ollie who himself is facing his own struggles as a senior dog. In a new video, the mum-of-two could be seen fussing her resting dog alongside a message across the screen which read: "And God said, 'I will send them without wings so nobody suspects them of being angels.'"

She then wrote alongside the emotional post: "Old boy Ollie. Plodding on and making the most of being able to sleep most of the day. Ollie has a review with the vet soon. His hearing and eyesight has deteriorated a lot, as have his back legs. And most mornings now he wakes needing a wash due to going to the toilet in the night without knowing. Mum came down to a lot of mess the other morning and he couldn’t get up without her lifting him. He was just lay in it all.

"It’s so hard with senior dogs. You wish they could just say to you either, 'don’t worry, I look like I’m struggling but I’m pain free and happy' or, 'I’m in pain now, please help me'." She added: "He doesn’t see or hear me coming home from work now, this is how I have to slowly let him know I’m there until he comes around.

"Every now and again he’ll have a burst of energy and spin around the garden, it’s crazy the ups and downs we have with them. Angels on earth that’s for sure." Gorka soon responded to the post with a string of single tear face emojis before Gemma's followers shared their love and support.
