ITV I'm A Celebrity fans beg 'please change the rules' and Ant McPartlin intervenes
by Jessica Sansome · Manchester Evening NewsI'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here are pleading for a change in the show's rules as they begged the producers to take action following the latest instalment of jungle action.
The ITV reality show returned to screens on Sunday night (November 24), and the latest episode of the 2024 sereis kicked off with Dean McCullough taking on another trial, this time named Absolute Carnage.
But he wasn't on his own as he was joined by Coleen Rooney who headed to the trial clearing with Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly for the first time before she and Dean had the chance to win meals for themselves and their fellow campmates.
The trial saw Coleen trapped in a box in the back of a car which was filled with cockroaches, crickets, giant mealworms and rats. The WAG's fellow campmate, BBC Radio 1 presenter Dean, had to rummage through a garage area which was filled with fish guts and creepy crawlies to find tools which he would pass to Coleen so she could unlock the stars in the box.
The pair worked together, with hosts Ant and Dec branding Coleen as "very calm, very quiet, you just got on with it". Liverpool-born Coleen replied: "That is my way of coping, silence, the silent treatment," before revealing they earned nine out of 12 stars for camp.
It was revealed at the end of the episode live by Ant and Dec that will take on another challenge during Monday’s episode (November 25), as he'll face another Bushtucker trial, this time dubbed Jack and The Scream Stalk.
But with Dean set to take on his fifth trial of I'm A Celeb's current run, which began last Sunday (November 17), fans were flocking to social media to demand change. @hollycarruthers said: "They need to change the rules where the person who does the trial is exempt the next day #imaceleb."

@Jimconnec commented: "They need to change the rules and have a limit on how many trials a celeb can do. Seems like Dean is being maliciously targeted because of a delight in his obvious trauma. This is getting ridiculous and boring now #ImACeleb." @jfield03 posted: "They should change the rules you can’t do 2 trials in a row. Simple. #ImACeleb." @SandraStracha12 added: "Come on now. Time to change the rules. Please STOP the same person doing the trials. He's getting on my t**s! #ImACeleb."
And they're not the only ones as co-host Ant has had his say. Appearing on spin-off show, I'm A Celeb.... Unpacked, on Sunday night, Ant hinted he has had enough of guiding the Northern Irish star through trials. Show host Joel Dommett asked the presenter: "What do you think about Dean doing the trial again tomorrow?" And Ant replied: "Well, right. Let’s all have a serious talk. I’m going to look directly into the camera here. I think it’s good to see other faces down there."
He continued: "This is not a personal thing. It’s not about Dean. It’s about us, just seeing different people down there. I think we want to see different people on the show doing [trials]. Some people are, unfortunately, aren't getting... I'd like to see Barry do a trial. I'd like to see Melvin down there. Or Oti."
