BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Sarah Hadland and Vito Coppola could get 'free pass' in competition in Blackpool move
by Jessica Sansome · Manchester Evening NewsSarah Hadland and Vito Coppola may have already sealed their place in another week of Strictly Come Dancing before they've even performed thier latest routine.
The pair have spent the week preparing to perform in week nine of the BBC One dance contest, which is the annual Blackpool special. Every year, Strictly heads north to bring one of its live episodes to viewers from the world-famous Tower Ballroom that is said to be the 'home of ballroom dancing'.
Last Saturday night (November 9), Vito and Sarah performed the American Smooth to Proud by Heather Small, a song which Sarah's character often sang in the hit BBC comedy show, Miranda.

They were awarded a very respectable 33 out of a possible 40 points by the judges, who appeared to have mixed opinions with Craig Revel Horwood criticising Hadland’s hand positions and Shirley Ballas asking her to focus on "neater, smaller details".
Despite the divided comments, Vito and Sarah safely made it through to another week in the competition and the excited pair will perform a couple's choice routine to Padam Padam by Kylie Minogue in the world-famous Tower Ballroom in Blackpool.
And deciding to do their couple's choice could work in their favour. After Pete Wicks and Chris McCausland both performed, former Strictly professional Ola Jordan shared her claim that doing a couple's choice return is a 'free pass' to the next week.

Speaking on behalf of Mecca Bingo, the professional dancer, who starred in the dance show from 2006 to 2015, she referred to Pete and Jowita Przystal's emotional performance and said: "Maybe because of his fan base he's getting quite a few votes I reckon, he's very liked. He did an amazing job this week with Jowita, but couple's choice, is a bit like a free pass to the next week, because there's not really any technique, they can do whatever suits the person.
"If you get the Rumba, Samba, or Cha-Cha, you know where you've got heavy technique, it’s much harder to make a good dance, they still did an amazing job. But you know the next week if he gets a technical dance, it's going to be hard again. It’s going to bring him down back to Earth, it all depends on what he gets."
