ITV Emmerdale newcomer Steph's true plan 'revealed' after Nicky update stuns Caleb
by Olivia Wheeler · Manchester Evening NewsFriday's dramatic episode of Emmerdale saw Steph Miligan confronting her estranged father Caleb Miligan.
The tension in the village ramped up as Jai Sharma, portrayed by Chris Bisson, sought vengeance on Caleb, brought to life by Will Ash, upon realising he had been duped in a swindle.
Earlier in the year, Jai received seemingly sage advice from Caleb on how to conceal his wealth from Laurel Thomas, enacted by Charlotte Bellamy, amid their divorce settlement, leading to a questionable business venture between them, with Jai pouring thousands into what he thought were investments in an offshore account and Caleb's logistics business.
However, the facade crumbled on Friday's show when Jai discovered Caleb had effectively outsmarted him, leaving him no financial share or evidence of investment in the haulage firm. Caleb's retort wasn't subtle as he said: "A fool and his money, I hope I've taught you a valuable lesson."

As events escalated, Jai vandalised Caleb's haulage warehouse and used a forklift to entrap him. It was at this high-stakes juncture that Caleb's daughter Steph, depicted by Georgia Jay, intervened, recording the escalating scene and threatening to send the video to authorities if Jai didn't stand down, reports Leeds Live.
In a conversation with her father, it became apparent that Steph has been distant from her parents for years, and she delivered a shocking update about her brother, Nicky, portrayed by Lewis Cope, who departed the village earlier in the year.
Caleb expressed their difficulties in locating her, remarking they had trouble trying to reach out, but Steph countered this by pointing out how simple it would have been just to ask Nicky.
Her admission struck Caleb hard, leading him to exclaim: "What, you two are in touch?" to which Steph nonchalantly confirmed: "Now and then!", leaving Caleb bewildered as he responded: "Well you never mentioned that!"

With Caleb perhaps contemplating a possible reunion, Steph coyly hinted at her real intentions for returning to the village, challenging his assumption with a retort: "Who says I'm here to see you?"
Steph revealed she wanted her grandmother's inheritance as she was getting nowhere with her solicitors. She warned: "I'm only here for my inheritance and after that? Yeah, I'm gone for good..." but could Steph have more plans in store?
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
