Coronation Street fans say Kit Green 'didn't kill' Joel Deering despite incriminating flashback

by · Manchester Evening News

Coronation Street fans think that Kit Green isn't the one behind Joel Deering's death despite viewing an incriminating flashback. The investigation into who killed the solicitor is on-going with the leading investigator in the case becoming the latest suspect.

As viewers of the ITV soap know, Joel went missing at the end of September after he was seemingly set to face his comeuppance for his twisted crimes, which included grooming Lauren Bolton.

After he failed to show up to court, after he'd been charged with buying the drugs that forced Lauren's early labour of their son, Frankie, with the intention of forcing her to miscarry, a warrant was issued for his arrest.

However, after transferring money to Lauren and his ex-wife Emily, and leaving an emotional voicemail for his former fiancée Dee-Dee Bailey, Joel's car was found abandoned and it was quickly believed he may have taken his own life.

It wasn't until last month that that theory was quickly thrown out the window, with the case quickly turned into solving Joel's murder after his body was found floating down a river before it was confirmed he'd been killed with a heavy weapon before entering the water.

So far, Corrie viewers have seen scorned ex-Dee-Dee, her dad Ed and her uncle Ronnie put in the frame, as has DS Lisa Swain, whose daughter Betsy was wrapped up with Joel and discovered he'd threatened to kill the teen, Mason Radcliffe and Carla Connor.

The case's leading investigator Kit has now also been teased as being involved in Joel's demise. He sparked suspicion last week wen he removed his own details from a spreadsheet of potential suspects, after Swain suggested that a red car may be connected to Joel’s murder.

During Monday night's (November 4) Corrie, Kit was heard telling Lisa that the red car lead was a dead end but in a flashback, Kit was seen spotting an injured Joel on the side of the road, with the distraction causing him to swerve into the parked car that Lisa was seen dealing with in a previous scenes.

He then got out and roughly confronted Joel, who made it clear that he knew Kit had planted evidence on Nathan Curtis while Lauren was missing and presumed dead. Would Joel's information have been enough to stop Kit killing him or did he want to keep him quiet?

Well, some Corrie fans think Kit is in the clear as he'd have too miuch to lose. @arc248 said: "OK I'm putting my money on Joel, but not much money, cause I still think the writers have a trick or 5 up their sleeves. I don't think Kit would take someone threatening his job!"

Killing Joel wouldn't benefit him. There's no motive. Now, I'm adding Nathan to the list, along with Micheal, Ellie and Joel's Ex-Wife." @lynne63g added: "It’s not Kit….another red herring…Nathan now ? There’s another story."
